about

After twelve ridiculous years, our first full length album is finally here, and we're thrilled to share this collection of music and the story it tells.

Therapy Songs is an album we always knew we wanted to write, but did not realize we had to go through years of successes, struggles, and near separation to get there. While we each gained our own separate perspective on life, all the while we could not bring ourselves to shake this thing called The Waffle Stompers. Breaking up was somehow never an option, and when songs started to trickle in from each member, we knew that we were ready to create something that was truly collaborative and representative of who we are as individuals and as a band.

These songs are all very different from each other: we finally felt comfortable exploring and incorporating genres that we love while staying rooted in our energy and aggressive delivery. We wrote and recorded, unafraid of trying new things that would make us uncomfortable in the past. But as is our style, we all sang on this album, a lot. It was important to us that every member of the band (and even our producer!) record vocals.

The music and lyrics on the album are linked by the idea that while we all struggle within ourselves believing that no one else understands our unique situation, if we truly look around, we are never alone in that very sentiment. We have learned that no matter where we are in our lives, the band is family, and for us, the music is therapy. We are hoping to extend that part to our friends and you, the listeners. Thank you to everyone we have met and learned from along the way, you are part of this family. We are so pumped for you to hear the journey.
